CUSTOMING YOUR COLOUR
Inventing your own "custom cooler" is easy, once you can mix different shades of the specific hair color product you are using to make a color that's as dark, light, red, gold, or ash as you want. Go ahead Be creative!
Hints and Tips
If your current shade is a bit too light, but the next -darker clairol shade is a bit too dark (or the other way around), add the next - darker (or next - lighter) Shade. Stay within the same tonal family (golden, reddish, or ash). For example, mix Light ash blonde with medium ash blonde or medium golden blonde with light golden blonde.
If you want to add warm tones to your current color, mix in a shade with the word "reddish" or "golden" on its description for example, add light golden brown to your light brown hair color. The resulting color will be somewhere in-between.
If you want to tone down your current color, reduce the red or gold in your color by adding a shade with the word "ash" in its name. For example, combine light ash brown with your usual light neutral brown.
Mixology Rules
Only combine shade from the same brand for example mix a nice n Easy shade with another nice n easy shade. For best results, choose a mixing color within a few shades of your regular color. For example, don't mix light blonde with dark brown.
Add 1/2 of your new mix-in color and 1/2 of your usual color to the developer. These proportions can be adjusted for a smaller or bigger change write down the exact amount used. This is your "recipe" for not time save unused color by securely the color bottles.
Use only one bottle of developer. Save the bottle included with your "mix-in" shade for your next color application.
Tips
For mixing your own color

For Redheads
For softer red on hair with some grey, mix-in 12mls of a neutral shade.

re-used for up tp about 8 weeks.
